WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT AND HELPS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION FOR OUR NEEDY AND DESTITUTE
CHAKMA CHILDREN
IN MIZORAM.
WELCOME TO THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PREACHING MISSION.
Dear Friends and Well Wisher,
AHIMSA SCHOOL is a school for underprivileged minority chakma children in Tuichawng village under Lunglei District,Mizoram. Established in 2000, and run by the “THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PREACHING MISSION” AHIMSA SCHOOL started with just 7 children in a small room with a pair of desks and benches by “THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PREACHING MISSION” as mission felt the essential need for education among children of their community, who were mostly engaged by their parents in labor from a very young age.
AHIMSA SCHOOL has now grown to a school of over 56 students. It is a religious and non profitable school providing free education. Children are encouraged to develop the positive qualities of loving kindness, compassion and universal responsibility.
AHIMSA means ‘Nonviolence’ and extend of universal love and compassion. AHIMSA is a school for children of families with low income, living in TUICHAWNG and the school covers 11 minority chakma tribal villages namely Tuichawng-I, Tuichawng-II, Sibinasora, Borkol, Tuichhuah, Diblibagh, Matrisora, Samuksury, Ugudasury,Tuikawi and Kauchhuah. The main Founder,Rajesh Kumar Chakma is teacher and firmly believes that education is the birth right of every child and no child –rich or poor should be left behind.
Unfortunately, the school may not run any longer as, the financial position of the school authority is too worst. We do not have donor, sponsor and well wisher to make a handsome fund for the helpless, needy and under-priviledge minority chakma children over here in mizoram.
In terms of literacy, Mizoram may be the second highest (next to Kerala). But Mizoram has its unique problems with the minority communities so much so that it can be safely stated that it is because of the high incidence of illiteracy among the minority communities that Mizoram cannot achieve the No. 1 rank.

Just take the case of the Chakmas. With over 8% of the total population of Mizoram the Chakmas are the largest minority group. But only 45.3% Chakmas are literate, as per 2001 census figures which also confirmed that Chakmas are the “most illiterate” community in the state. This is against Mizos’ commendable 95.6% literacy rate. Although the literacy rate of the Brus (also known as Reangs) is not known (not recorded), it is popularly believed that the Brus are far behind to Chakmas in terms of development and education.
Our Primary need is salary for 3 teacher’s which we have calculated as given below. :
1. Teacher’s Salary : Headmaster----Rs. 8000.00. per month= Rs. 8000.00.
Asst teacher= 3 x Rs. 7000/- per month= Rs. 21000.00.
G/Total = Rs. 29,000.00.
Total Expenditure Per month is Rs. 29,000.00.
2. We need financial aids of 70% of the teacher’s salary mentioned above being Rs. 20300/- ( twenty thousand thousand three hundred ) only per month. Our project is for 5 years i/e Rs. 20300 x 12 months X 5 years = 11,18,000/- ( Rupees eleven lakhs eighteen thousand ) only.

Under the circumstances mentioned above, I do pray and request your sympathetic honour as to kindly cry and smile for us and so as to enable our needy and underpriviledge chakma children may get free education like other developed children in the world.

Thanking you in high anticipation,

Your’s faithfully,

RAJESH KUMAR CHAKMA,
President,
The Ultimate Truth Preaching Mission,
Gen,Hqrs: Shanti Niketan Bouddha Vihara, Tuichawng.

ABOUT OUR PROPOSAL :

1. The Ultimate Truth Preaching Mission has appointed 4 teachers in AHIMSA ENGLISH SCHOOL. The monthly salaries of the teachers is collected on public donation. We have some donors members and some executive members contribute Rs. 300/- each per month. But, the financial condition of the donors and the executive members are becoming worse year by year and they are failing to donate as they wanted or as needed. That is why we need financial support from willing NGO’s.
2. The Education System of our state runs thus-Children below 6 years of age are looked after by the social welfare department through “Anganwadhi Centres” which is called early child care & education. But, it is a matter of regrete that very limited “Anganwadi Centres” are given in this area which are also not at all active. As such, Tuichawng Village is consist of 350 families. Only 2 Anganwadi Centres are given here which are not at all enough to give proper child care & education to such a large numbers of children coming from 350 families. Tuichawngchhuah village is consist of 45 families and Siminasora village is consist of 40 families where there is no any Anganwadi Centres. Financially able families engage tutors for their children but the children of poor families are indirectly deprived of early child care and education. They after completing 6 years, have to admit into Primary School in Class-I without having alphabetical knowledge. It become a big problem to them to cope up. So, most of them get failed and drop their studies. To facilitate the poor children of this area by proper child care & education the “AHIMSA ENGLISH SCHOOL’ has become a MUST.
3. Our Organisation thinks that every child has the right to get education in proper time. Depriving any children from getting education is a curse to our society. So, why should not we take necessary steps to let the poor children enjoy their right to education. As such, we started our service by opening school. We are fully determined to run the school by any means. We are campaigning to each and every citizen to come forward to SUPPORT us to PROVIDE EDUCATION to the poor and needy children of this area. Many are willing to help us and we shall try our best to achieve the goal.
4. There is no such registered organization in this area to under take such a difficult but charity work. Besides, the people of this locality are lacking very backward in education. The literacy percentage is below 20%. So, no one have such a good idea. Almost all the literates & intellectuals are involved in this organization to under take this charity work. We have links with several Organisations out of which three Organisation have agreed to help us with fianacial assistance. They are : 1. Probini Foundation. 2. Indian Charity Foundation. 3. Chakma Development Forum.
5. If, on humanitarian ground, the SPONSORS,DONORS & WELLWISHERS agrees to give funds to us, We shall use it for (a) teachers monthly pay. (b) Making furnitures for the school. (c) Provide scholarship to the poor children coming from BPL families for buying uniforms and books etc. AND RE-BUILD THE SCHOOL.

Hi, Friends, Kindly Please extend your generous support to provide educational help for the underprivileged micro minority chakma girls of Mizoram. Supporting girls’ education is one of the single best investments we can make to help end poverty. It will save lives. It will transform futures. It will unleash the incredible potential of girls and their communities.

Invest in girls and change the world.

We believe #Education is the backbone of any society and it is rightly said, “When you educate a girl, you educate a nation.” With that belief, the Mahabodhi Residential School, in a distinct corner of #Mizoram, is constructing a hostel for underprivileged indigenous Chakma girls, and seeking funds for the noble cause.
